Medical Director of Pediatric Inpatient Clinical Psychiatry in Metro Maine

Metro Maine psychiatry hospital is seeking a Medical Director for a full time pediatric inpatient clinical opportunity. The Medical Director will work with a skilled interdisciplinary team in the delivery of psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and their families.  Must be BC/BE in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry.  

Responsibilities include: assessment, diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric and chemical dependency problems, as well as development and maintenance of a high-performing inpatient child & adolescent service.   This hospital embraces the biopsychosocial model and provides outstanding supervision and support. The Medical Director will also coordinate care for their patients with the full spectrum of community services offered through there behavioral health service line. In addition, the Medical Director serves as a clinical leader, resource, and preceptor for other staff and participates in program development and quality improvement. Research opportunities and support are available.  

HOSPITAL:  Hospital is an acute care, regional psychiatric hospital and a leader in the provision of tele-psychiatry services, including consultations to regional emergency departments and primary care practices.  Hospital offers innovative programming in the form of a behavioral home health, integrated behavioral healthcare in primary care practices, and a mood and memory clinic, which is involved in multiple clinical trials for promising Alzheimer’s medications. Other available services include individual therapy, intensive outpatient treatment, ECT, ketamine, inpatient psychiatric treatment and an observation unit.  The hospital provides a substance use disorder treatment program, case management services, and other outpatient mental health services in three counties.
